Irish Eyes Were Smiling at Vita et Pax Prep School for St. Patrick’s Day
St. Patrick’s Day was a truly special occasion at Vita et Pax Preparatory School in North London, as we celebrated the rich culture and traditions of Ireland. The day began with a vibrant and engaging assembly, where three of our students with Irish heritage led us in a captivating presentation about Ireland. They shared fascinating facts about the country, its history, and the significance of St. Patrick’s Day, bringing the spirit of the holiday to life for all of us.
Following the assembly, the students were treated to an incredible display of Irish dancing. The performance featured two different styles: a lively light jig performed with soft shoes and a powerful heavy jig danced with hard shoes. Both dances were full of energy and precision, and the students were absolutely captivated by the skill and talent on display. It was an impressive and memorable way to kick off our St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.
The excitement continued later in the day with a special Irish dancing workshop led by Fiona from McGahan Lees Irish Dancing School. The children had a fantastic time learning the steps of this traditional dance style, and the smiles on their faces showed just how much fun they were having. The workshop was a wonderful opportunity for the students to experience Irish culture firsthand, and it certainly inspired some future dancers!
To make the day even more festive, we encouraged all students to wear something green in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, and it was great to see so many children embracing the tradition. The day was full of joy, laughter, and learning, and we are incredibly proud of how everyone came together to celebrate this special day.
